Emergency
Dental Services

Dental emergencies are both painful and terrifying. It is possible for trauma, grinding, eating hard foods, etc. to lead to fractured teeth. At this stage, dental treatment is always required to alleviate the pain and to ensure your teeth have the best chances of survival. Our Dental Office offers sedation and comfort aids to help.

We take dental emergencies seriously at Two Cities Dental. A dental injury, severe toothache, broken tooth, lost filling, or dental infection can require prompt attention. Getting evaluated as soon as possible can help prevent the problem from becoming more complicated and may improve the chances of preserving the affected tooth when treatment is appropriate.

We understand that visiting the dentist during an emergency can be stressful. Our team will evaluate your symptoms, explain your treatment options, and help you feel as comfortable as possible throughout your visit. For patients with dental anxiety, we also offer comfort aids that may help reduce stress during certain procedures.

Don’t wait until it gets worse

Some dental problems can become more difficult to treat when care is delayed. If you have significant pain, swelling, bleeding, a broken tooth, or another urgent dental concern, contact Two Cities Dental as soon as possible. We welcome new patients and can evaluate your situation to determine the appropriate next step.

Keep it moist at all times. If you can, try placing the tooth back in the socket without touching the root. If that’s not possible, place it in between your cheek and gums, in milk, or use a tooth preservation product that has the ADA Seal of Acceptance. Then get to Two Cities Dental Office right away.

Rinse your mouth gently with warm water to keep the area clean. If there is swelling, apply a cold compress to the outside of your face. Avoid chewing on the affected side and contact our dental office for an evaluation.

Gently clean the injured area with water. Apply a cold compress to the outside of the lip or cheek to help reduce swelling. If bleeding is heavy or does not stop with gentle pressure, seek urgent medical attention.

Rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss around the affected tooth to remove any trapped food. Do not place aspirin directly on your tooth or gums. Persistent or severe tooth pain should be evaluated by a dentist to determine the underlying cause.

Try to gently remove the object with dental floss. Do not use needles, knives, or other sharp instruments because they can injure your gums or damage the teeth. If the object cannot be removed safely, contact your dentist for assistance.
